Deborah Ellen Kenner-Sanchez, age 67 of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away peacefully at 2:32 P.M., Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Riverside Methodist Hospital surrounded by her family.
Ten years following the birth of her brother, Charles and Wilma Kenner finally gave birth to a beautiful girl on March 14, 1957. She was always so proud to share her birthday with Albert Einstein, therefore, claiming to be the “smartest” in the family.
On a chance blind date, Debbie met Arnulfo Sanchez and later married on June 2, 2000. He survives.
She had a deep love for friends and family and is survived by her brother, Dan (Kay) Kenner, nephew, Jeff (Krista) Kenner, niece Melissa (Scott) Johnson, stepsons, Jason (Gwen Newhouse) Saum and Arnulfo Jr. (A.J.) (Christine) Sanchez, and many great/great-great nieces and nephews.
She dearly missed her parents and a great-great nephew who preceded her.
Debbie graduated from Mohawk High School in 1975 and was an advocate for keeping her class reunions and “Ladies of 75” still together. She then graduated from Bowling Green State University. Her love for children took her to Marion City School where she taught math and then became a high school guidance counselor. She took every opportunity to help kids succeed in school while teaching life lessons along the way.
Debbie was everything to everyone. When she met you and by the end of the conversation, she knew where you lived, where you grew up, and about your family. She knew no stranger. Her favorite things were having pool parties, cookouts, dancing, playing cards, telling jokes, sudoku, writing poems and music, and making vegetable soup. She even had a poem book that was published called “Sunrise to Sunset.
Family and friends may visit and bring their stories to Walton-Moore Funeral Home in Sycamore, Ohio on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 3:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. A funeral will be held at Walton-Moore Funeral Home on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Steve Sturgeon officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, Ohio.
